Kaiwi o Pele

/ Ka-iwi-o-Pele / WahiLocation, Place Names of Hawaiʻi (1974),

A cinder hill, Hāna qd., Maui. Literally, the bone of Pele. (Pele's bones were left here after her battle with her older sister, Nāmaka-o-Kahaʻi. Lonomuku left the top of this hill to go to live on the moon. This hill is the principal landmark for Poʻo, a fishing station off Kīpahulu. Kamapuaʻa ravished Pele here; HM 213.)
