/ Ka-lua-ʻaha /Land division, gulch, and place of refuge, Kamalō qd., south Molokaʻi. The first Christian mission on Molokaʻi was established here in 1832 by the Reverend H.R. Hitchcock; it is also the site of a Catholic church (Our Lady of Sorrows) built in 1874 by Father Damien. Literally, the gathering pit.
