Kāne and Kanaloa sent a whale here to pick up their worshiper, Makuakaumana (older perching branches) (Sterling and Summers 4:97) and take him to the legendary floating land Kānehūnāmoku to live with Kāne and Kanaloa in the "deathless land of beautiful people".
