  • Examples:
    • Hākau, half brother of ʻUmi, was killed in this fashion (FS 141), and this method was used unsuccessfully against the hero Kawelo (FS 107). Hoʻokahi wale nō kumu e make ai ʻo Kawelo, ʻo ke kaua i ke ahukū, there was only one way to kill Kawelo, burial beneath stones.
