Large, native shrub or small tree (Canthium odoratum). It grows up to 20 feet in height and is found in the lowlands up to 2,000 feet. The wood is handsome, hard, and durable. It was used by Hawaiians to make the ʻōʻō (cultivating stick) and was also used medicinally. (NEAL 797.)
