n., The red sandalwood tree (Adenanthera pavonina 🌐), from parts of tropical Asia and Malaysia, of moderate height and with rather widespreading branches. The tree is planted in parks, and its round, lens-shaped, red seeds are used for leis, and their long, yellow-lined pods for decorative arrangements.
