n., Handle, stem, stalk, shaft, stick or mallet used in beating; shank limb of a fishhook.

  • Examples:
    • Ka wai kūʻau hoe a ka lawaiʻa, the water of the paddle handle of the fisherman [a famous trickling water on the cliffs along the Nāpali coast, Kauaʻi; thirsty fishermen stuck the paddle handles into the cliff and let the water trickle down into their mouths].
