keʻehi
1. vt., To stamp, tramp, step, tread; to brace with the feet; to rebel against, repudiate; to strike against, to put foot into stirrup in mounting a horse; to trip; not to tolerate, to “put the fool down” in ending a situation; to get in by stepping up, as into a vehicle.
- Examples:
- Keʻehi akula ia i kekahi wāwae maluna o kekahi wāwae, ā hina ihola ʻo Nūnū i lalo (FS 147), tripping one foot over the other, Nūnū fell down.
- Keʻehi lōʻihi, full pace; forward march.
- Keʻehi pōkole, short step, half step; mark time.
