/ mā'-nī'-ĕ-nī'-e / Haw to Eng, Parker (1922),

1. A species of grass said to have been introduced about 1835 by Dr. G. P. Judd, and called manienie by the natives on account of its creeping habit. (Capriola dactylon.) Popularly known as Bermuda grass.

2. The original manienie or creeping grass of the natives (Stenotaphrum secundatum). Found in the tropics of all continents.
