The bean-like fruit of the kaee or kaeee (Mucuna gigantea).
Sea bean of the kaeʻe vine (Mucuna gigantea), native to a large area from India to Polynesia. In Hawaiʻi, it is found at low elevations. The seeds are used in powder form as a purgative, or strung for making leis. (NEAL 462.) See kipa, pīpā.
