1. n. A variety of taro, tall and stocky, distinguished by the black edge of the petiole; corm white, less acrid than most taros, used chiefly as a table taro also medicinally. The name may be qualified by the colors ʻeleʻele and keʻokeʻo. Also lauloa hāʻeleʻele, lauloa palakea.
